How to use the Negotiator tool on 888 Lots

The Negotiator tool is one of our essential, but probably very often overlooked tools. We mentioned it briefly in our introductory blog post, but here we will go into more detail and give it the attention it deserves.

We at 888 Lots strongly believe in listening to our customers and we like to engage in conversation so we can improve and make our platform a better place for sourcing products. A topic that prevails conversations very often is the expressed discontent with high prices and low MSRP on our website.

Therefore, we would like to take this opportunity and introduce, explain and educate our users that the prices listed on the website are not necessarily the prices they have to pay – they can be negotiated with us.

How the Negotiator tool works

The Negotiator tool allows you to negotiate the price with us on any lot you like – even Premium and Branded lots. It is highly interactive – it gives you the percent off MSRP and Net Profit (for both FBA and MF) in real time if you click Calculate on the offer you are considering submitting.

The tool also gives you other valuable information when researching a given lot – what other clients have offered for it so far. This can aid you in your estimation on the lot’s price. This makes the tool even more exciting as it allows interactions between you, other clients and us. This process can be seen in the animated GIF below.

Once you have done your research and calculations and have settled on a price you believe is appropriate, you are ready to submit your offer to us. You can do this by simply clicking the green ‘Send my offer’ button.

Your offer is now in our system and will be reviewed by a salesman as soon as possible. If the offer is reasonable then it will be accepted by the salesman and you will receive a notification that you have won the negotiations and the lot is yours. If, however, your offer is considered inappropriate, then you will receive a counter-offer which our salesman believes to be more suitable. If you accept the counter-offer then you win the lot immediately and you will receive a notification. If you refuse the counter-offer then you are out of the negotiations for this lot.
